True is stranger than fiction

It’s Charlie Chaplin’s birthday today, he would have been 122. I have never been a Charlie Chaplin movie fan and I haven’t really watched to many of his movies, but his life and the way he lead it is fascinating.

The way he grew up, his start in Vaudeville, the movies and his personal life, NOW THAT is a really good story.

His autobiography is a good read and the movies that stars Robert Downey Jr. is a really entertaining movie.

An interesting side note, almost all the movies are legally downloadable from the internet. I think media should be like subscription medicine, the original company has a set amount of years before any one can start using it, after that it goes into public domain. If you could only get Disney to stop extending the copyright period.

If this Windows 8 portability feature actually made it into the finished product, it would actually entice me to upgrade from Windows XP.

I was reading the Cisco Cius was launched today. It was announced last year and went through a few revisions. Orders are being taken but its not shipping until late May. It’s running Android 2.2 and wont run the Google Tablet optimized Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). Sometimes Cisco makes Microsoft look like an early adopter. Lets see what the Chrome OS laptops look like this summer.

Some guy is doing a class action lawsuit over Apple’s in-app purchase technique because his daughter racked up to many bills. All I can tell you is, the current way works great, give your daughter a separate iTunes account and bang you are done. Don’t mess up the system for a few morons.

sigh
